Start a Club

HOW DO I START A CLUB?

Starting a club is a great idea. The more people who play rugby the better. There are a few things you need to know about starting a club to make sure it is a success. So here is a detailed list of the bare minimum requirements of starting a club. Additional things to think about include but are not limited to: team jerseys, team logos, purchasing equipment, and fundraising.

1. Get a Coach

If you are interested in starting a club, odds are you are planning on coaching yourself. In that case, congratulations! you have already completed step 1. If not, you should probably get one.

2. Get Players

This is perhaps the most important requirement. You need players and they all need to sign waivers, especially if they are under the age of 18. If not, they still need to sign waivers, they just don’t need a parent signature.

3. Get Money From Your Players

4. Adhere to all of the Rules and Regulations of SCRFU

To start a club, submit your request to secretary@scrfu.org by FGM:

  • Must have a level 200 coach
  • Provide a name
  • Provide team colors
  • Show the team roster
  • Financials
  • Training field details and game day field details.
  • CIPP of 15 players minimum but STRONGLY recommend at least 25.
